Week 4 - (WEST) The Sacred Waters
Element: Water
Theme/Invitation: Emotional presence, fluidity, and inner truth
Grandmother Archetype: The Keeper of the Waters– She holds the sacred container for what you’re finally ready to release. She teaches us that emotion is not weakness, but wisdom. She helps us move what we’ve been carrying so long we forgot it wasn’t ours.
Animal Ally: Bear – The one who retreats to the cave, who teaches us the power of going within, of rest, reflection, and deep listening.
Ritual Guide
This week, we move into the West, where the waters flow.

This is about slowing down. Feeling what’s real. Making space for emotion to move without fixing or rushing.
We’ll work with the energy of Water, the Grandmother of the Sacred Waters, and the medicine of Bear.

What you’ll need:
-
Your white candle
-
A bowl of water (your ritual waters)
-
Something for your altar that represents release or softness (a stone, a petal, a small vial of water, etc.)
-
Your sacred object for the week
-
Pen and paper
-
A quiet space where you can be present with yourself
-
Optional: a scarf or shawl, and soft music for the journaling time
-

This week is about honoring what you’ve been carrying, and letting the waters help you soften and release.
Sacred Object Work
This week, choose a sacred object that feels fluid, deep, or emotionally resonant.

Let it represent what’s moving beneath the surface, your emotional presence, your inner tides, what’s ready to be felt and released.

We’ll work with it during the ritual to anchor what’s shifting.

You might choose:
-
A shell, small bowl, or smooth stone that holds water energy
-
An object passed down from a maternal ancestor
-
Something soft, flowing, or cool to the touch
-
A symbol of emotional truth, surrender, or intuition

There’s no right choice, only what feels right to you.
Message from the grandmother of the South
“You’ve been holding a lot.
Not just for yourself, but for others. For years. Maybe lifetimes.
I’m not here to ask you to spill it all out or dig into every story.
I’m just here to sit beside you while some of it softens.
You don’t need to name it all.
You don’t need to fix it.
You don’t need to be anyone but who you are, right now.
Let the water do what it does.
Let it hold you. Let it move what’s ready. Let it return you to yourself.
This isn’t about falling apart.
It’s about making space.
It’s about learning the difference between what’s truly yours and what you can finally set down.
You’re not too much.
You’re not too sensitive.
You’re not broken.
You’re just full. And you’re allowed to empty, gently.”
